A little about me...
The loss of birth and adoptive family is at the center of my commitment to be of service to others. BIPOC
and queer poetry community taught me the power of chosen family, collective care, and liberation
through the telling of stories by the people who live them. I believe liberation begins with the reclamation
and bolstering of a person’s voice and continues with the learning of how to protect oneself against the
oppressive and racist systems of society.
I am currently a non traditional student at the University of Washington in my mid-thirties. It’s the first
time I’ve had the privileges that allow for the opportunity of college education. I’m in the process of
attaining a Bachelor of Social Work then streamlining into an Master of Social Work program summer of
2025. I believe this work in combination with a past career history in eastern/natural medicine,
reproductive and gender affirming care health clinics, and volunteer experience in crisis-descalation,
suicide prevention, and trauma informed care will offer a greater opportunity to serve the community as
my life’s work.
I envision myself supporting BIPOC youth and adults with a combination of mental health therapy and
financial literacy education, so they can navigate systems of housing, banking, medical insurance, and
career with as much agency, strength, and emotional support as possible.Therapeutic modalities I plan to
study include IFS, EFT, EMDR, CBT, art therapy, and mindfulness.
I hope to be in a therapeutic relationship built of mutual respect and reciprocity, to decolonize my practice
and the hierarchy of client-practitioner relationships with full transparency in all interactions, to invite
you to always take up space, ask questions, and not be afraid to lead me in better serving your unique
needs. I want to co-create together the most effective means of supporting your healing journey during
our work together and after its completion. It is an honor to walk alongside you.
